The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on June 28, 2024, issued a notification regarding the extension of the timeline for registration of Unregistered Entities providing M2M services and/or WLAN/WPAN connectivity for M2M Services.
The following has been stated: -
•DoT vide the aforementioned reference letter dated March 27, 2024, had extended the registration period for registration of unregistered entities providing M2M Services and/or WPAN/WLAN Connectivity for M2M Services till June 30, 2024.
•In this regard, a representation has been received from COAI seeking further extension of the timeline. Following a thorough examination of the representation received from COAI, it has been decided to extend the timeline further for registration of entities currently providing M2M Services and/or WPAN/WLAN Connectivity for M2M Services up to September 30, 2024.
•Furthermore, a reminder is issued to all Authorized Telecom Licensees regarding the strict prohibition on providing any new/additional telecom resources for M2M Services/connectivity to unregistered entities. Verification and recording of the DoT Registration Number remains mandatory for access to telecom resources for M2M Services/connectivity purposes.
