NSE notified regarding the Dummy Securities in Master Files

Secretarial ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange (NSE) on June 28, 2024, issued the notification regarding the Dummy Securities in Master Files.

The following has been stated namely: -

• In the continuous endeavour to optimize and strengthen the trading platform, Exchange shall perform internal order/trade activity every trading day before start of market hours as part of pre-market sanity checks.

• Dummy securities shall be incorporated in security master files viz security_slb.txt. Securities having the last 7 characters of its symbol as "NSETEST" shall be identified as dummy securities for this purpose.

• The inclusion of dummy securities/symbols in securitymaster files are purely intended for internal testing of the Exchange, hence, market participants shall ignore receipt of any such data in the form of report/feed/broadcast. 

• The above change shall be effective in live from the  trade date of July 08, 2024, and shall be effective until further notice
