The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on June 25, 2024, issued a notification regarding the Registration of Producers, Importers & Brand-Owners (PIBOs) and Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs) on Centralized Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Portal for Plastic Packaging.
This is in continuation of the Notice dated May 13, 2024, issued by CPCB on the subject as per which all concerned PIBOs & PWPs were required to submit a complete Registration application on the EPR Portal on or before May 31, 2024.
However, it is observed that several such PIBOs & PWPs are yet to register on the EPR Portal in compliance with a provision of EPR Guidelines.
Because of the above, this is to inform all concerned PIBOS & PWPs to submit complete applications for registration on the Centralized EPR Portal for Plastic Packaging on or before June 30, 2024, failing which necessary action shall be taken against them by concerned authorities, under provisions of PWM Rules, 2016
