The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) on July 01, 2024, notified the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2024 further to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
The following has been stated: -
•In rule 15, in sub-rule (1), after clause (n), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: -
(o) Accessibility Guidelines and Standards for Higher Education Institutions and Universities as specified, in the notification of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India vide notification number F. No. N-11018/01/2024 dated January 19, 2024.
They shall come into force on July 01, 2024.
