The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on July 02, 2024, issued a circular regarding Dummy Equity security in Master Files.
The following has been stated: -
•Market participants are requested to note the inclusion of EQUITY instrument and Dummy symbol in all reference master files such as Contract Master, Bhavcopy, etc. broadcasted by the Exchange are purely intended for internal testing of the Exchange, hence, market participants shall ignore receipt of any such data in the form of report/feed/broadcast.
•Any reference/processing/activity/consumption and consequent results on the said data shall be at their own discretion/risk. In no event will NSEIX, its officers, or employees be liable for decisions made or actions taken in reliance on the data.
•The dummy security shall be added to ni_contract.txt from above mentioned effective date. Members are advised to load the updated ni_contract.gz & ni_spd_contract.gz files in the trading application before trading on July 08, 2024. This file can be obtained from the directory /gtftp/gtcommon on the Extranet server.
