The Sports Department, Haryana on June 28, 2024, issued the Haryana Provision of Sports Equipment Scheme 2024-25.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It aims to give grants for sports equipment to Gram Panchayats and Municipal bodies.
• It shall be valid for the financial year 2024-25, till March 31, 2025.
• It states that the Municipal Bodies or Gram Panchayats shall be eligible for making applications under this scheme if proper Field of Play (FoP) for the requisite sport is available in their town/ village.
• It states that sports equipment shall be provided for Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Handball, Boxing, Wrestling, Judo, and Cricket.
• It states that applications shall be submitted in the prescribed form to District Sports Officers, with proper receipt issued, with submission by ward member/counsellor for Municipal Bodies or by Sarpanch/Gram Sachiv for Gram Panchayats, photographs of the Field of Play are required, with scrutiny by a committee within specified time limits upon receipt.
• It states that the timeline for processing applications is that the Submission of the application can be done on any working day, and scrutiny by a committee at the district level and allocation of sports equipment to the concerned within 10 calendar days.
