The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on July 01, 2024, issued a circular regarding Apron Safety Management.
The following has been stated:
• The Aerodrome operator should ensure proper/conspicuous markings & signages including required lighting on the area for aircraft parking. usage of vehicles, and equipment on the apron(s), taxi lanes, GSE parking area and apron service roads.
• The Aerodrome operator should deploy speed guns, especially at vulnerable positions to monitor the speed of vehicles and action including cancellation of Airport Driving Permit (ADP) be taken in case of violation.
• The Aerodrome operator should ensure the provision of an aerobridge with audible warnings and visual alerts to indicate aerobridge movements.
• The Aerodrome operator should install a CCTV camera with an inbuilt recording facility and video analytics, in the operational area.
