The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), on July 04, 2024, issued a notification regarding the Number of partitions to be increased from 8 to 10 in the equity derivatives segment.
Effective July 8, 2024, the number of partitions in the equity derivatives segment will increase from 8 to 10. Each partition serves a set of products, and this change will affect trading by expanding the number of partitions used.
The following has been stated-
•Partition Increase: From July 8, 2024, trading will occur in 10 partitions instead of 8. Partition information can be found in the equity derivatives master file (EQD_CODDMMYY.csv) under column 13 (Partition ID).
•ETI-Based Applications:
oETI applications must update to accommodate 10 partitions for order retransmissions, trades, and partition-oriented messages.
oPartition details are included in the Session login response (Template ID 10001) message of the ETI API under the field name NoOfPartition (1770).
oThe exchange will gradually create new products and reassign existing products to partitions 9 and 10. Updates on partition changes will be provided in the EQD_CODDMMYY.csv file.
•Impact on EMDI/EOBI:
oThe movement of products between partitions will affect EOBI/EMDI multicast streams. Market data will shift from the original partition's stream to the new partition's stream.
oDetails on partition-wise multicast streams are available in the BOLTPLUS Configuration file version 1.10, accessible on the BSE website.
•Testing and Implementation:
oA mock session for testing the new partitions will be held on July 6, 2024.
oMembers should adjust their EOBI/EMDI applications to accommodate the ongoing product movement between partitions.
All trading members are advised to make necessary updates to their systems to align with these changes.
