The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on July 02, 2024, issued a circular regarding the Go-Live of the EPR Portal for Used Oil Management on the CPCB website for Sign-up and Registration.
The CPCB has developed the EPR Portal for Used Oil and launched the Sign-up & Producers Registration modules on June 24, 2024. Currently, all the entities (Producer/Recycler/Importer/Collection Agent) can sign up while the Producers can submit the application for registration.
The CPCB has also prepared FAQs addressing the queries raised by various stakeholders in various interactions meets and SoPs for Registration of Producer at EPR Portal; as guidance documents for the stakeholders. The documents are available on the CPCB website and the Used Oil EPR portal. The URL for the Used Oil EPR portal (i.e. https://eprusedoil.cpcb.gov.in) can be accessed through the CPCB website (at E-Governance Portals). Further, the remaining modules (Registration of Recycler/Importer/ Collection Agent; EPR Certificate generation and Transaction; Audit; Environment Compensation) are currently under development in phase wise manner.
In view of the above, SPCBs/PCCs are requested to direct the manufacturers/Importers of Base oil/lubrication oil/ other products manufactured from base oil to register as "Producer" on the Used oil EPR portal latest by July 31, 2024.
