•Stainless Steel Utensils: Durability and Elegance
Stainless steel utensils are popular for their durability and sleek appearance. The BIS standard IS 14756:2022 specifies the requirements for various types of stainless steel utensils used in cooking, serving, dining, and storage.
This includes:
oMaterial Requirements: Ensuring safe composition.
oShapes and Dimensions: Providing uniformity and practicality.
oWorkmanship and Finish: Mandating high-quality craftsmanship.
oPerformance Parameters: Tests include staining, mechanical shock, thermal shock, dry heat, coating thickness, nominal capacity, flame stability, and specific tests for utensils with tempered glass lids.
•Aluminium Utensils: Lightweight and Efficient
Aluminium utensils are valued for their lightweight nature and excellent heat conductivity. The BIS standard IS 1660:2024 outlines the specifications for wrought and cast aluminium utensils up to 30 liters, including hard anodized and non-stick coatings.
