Industry Specific ComplianceThe Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) on July 04, 2024, notified the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (Forecasting, Scheduling and Deviation Settlement for Solar and Wind Generation) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2024 to further amend the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (Forecasting, Scheduling and Deviation Settlement for Solar and Wind Generation) Regulations, 2018.

The following has been stated-

•Regulation 5.11 of the Principal Regulations shall be substituted as 5.11 The QCA shall furnish to the SLDC the contract-wise as well as aggregated forecasts relating to its Wind and Solar Energy Generators connected to the intra- State Transmission network, with details of their Availability. SLDC shall modify/develop and maintain a dynamic web-based application for day-ahead scheduling, revision of schedules and display of real-time information.

•Regulation 5.20A is introduced after Regulation 5.20 as 5.20A During or after completion of the Trial Mode, the SLDC may re-submit the updated Detailed Procedure, stipulating the revised plan for data telemetry, revised formats of forecast submission and other revised modalities and requirements, which Commission shall endeavour to approve within fifteen (15) days thereafter. Provided that, SLDC shall undertake stakeholder consultation by referring the updated Draft Procedure to the Maharashtra State Power Committee before submission to the Commission for approval.

•Regulation 7.2 of the Principal Regulations shall be substituted as 7.2A Deviation Charge when sale of Power Generation.
