The Department of Medical, Health & Family Welfare and National Health Mission, Rajasthan on July 05, 2024, issued the Rajasthan Epidemic Disease (Rabies) Regulation, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Passive Surveillance Centers shall be designated as Model Anti-Rabies Clinics. These clinics shall be staffed by trained Physicians, Nurses, and Pharmacists. Additionally, Anti-Rabies Clinics shall be established at Community Health Centers (CHCs) and Primary Health Centers (PHCs), where Medical Officers and Nurses will manage animal bite cases
• In Passive Surveillance Centres under Animal Husbandry, wildlife & Forest and Municipal Corporation shall provide vaccines and treatment will be provided to both rabid and non-rabid animals.
• Suspected cases of Rabies, both non-fatal and fatal, must be reported promptly to the Chief Medical Health Officer, Veterinary Officer, Forest Conservator, and the State headquarters
This shall come into force from July 05, 2024.
