Commercial ComplianceThe Government of Rajasthan on July 10, 2024, issued a notification regarding the stamp duty relating to a flat or residential unit in a multi-storey building having more than four floors.

The State Government, being of the opinion that it is expedient so to do in the public interest, hereby orders Provides that stamp duty on the following instruments relating to a flat or residential unit in a multi-storey building having more than four floors, the market value of which does not exceed fifty lakh rupees, will be reduced and will be charged at the rate of five percent, namely:

(i) Deed of transfer, or

(ii) Lease deeds issued/executed by the State Government, local authorities, public undertakings or any other Government bodies as a result of allotment or sale.

This notification applies to instruments executed or for registration or instruction before the Sub-Registrar or for payment of stamp duty before the Collector (Stamp) or the Rajasthan Tax Board or any other Court.

This will also apply to instruments pending adjudication but stamp duty already paid will not be refunded.
