Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Government of Andaman & Nicobar Islands on July 11, 2024, notified regarding the violation of VAT Rules by some Bar Owners and POL (Petroleum, Oil & Lubricant) Owners.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It is stated that some bar owners and petroleum, oil, and lubricant (POL) owners in A & N Islands were consistently failing to remit their Value Added Tax (VAT) on a monthly basis within the stipulated deadlines, as outlined in the notification issued by the Commissioner (VAT) on December 31, 2020. This failure to comply with VAT rules is considered a serious breach and leads to substantial financial losses for the government.

• It is once again directed to strictly comply with the due dates:

o Payment of Tax - Monthly - 21st day of each succeeding month

o Submission of Return - Quarterly - 28th day of each succeeding Quarter

• It is stated that all the Value Added Tax Returns shall be submitted at the Office of the Value Added Tax Officer (HQ) situated at RCS Office, VIP Road, Port Blair.
