The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on July 10, 2024, notified regarding the amendment in General Financial Rules, 2017.
The following has been stated namely: -
• In Rule 133 wherever the words "Rupees thirty lakhs" occur shall be substituted with the words "Rupees Sixty Lakhs".
• In Rule 139(iv) - Procedure for Execution of Works,
o in clause (iv) the words "Rs. Five lakh to Rs. Thirty lakh" shall be substituted with the words "Rs. Ten lakh to Rs. Sixty lakh".
o in clause (v) the words "Rupees five lakhs" shall be substituted with the words "Rupees Ten lakhs".
• In Rule 149 - Government e-Marketplace (GeM),
o in clause (i) the words and figures "Rs.25,000/-" shall be substituted with the words and figures "Rs.50,000/-".
o in clause (ii) the words and figures "Rs.25,000/- and up to Rs.5,00,000/-" and “Rs.5,00,000/- ” shall be substituted with the words and figures "Rs.50,000/- and up to Rs.5,00,000/-" and “Rs10,00,000/-” respectively.
• In Rule 218 - Mode of Disposal, wherever the words "Rupees Two Lakh" shall be substituted with the words "Rupees Four Lakh".
