The Airport Authority of India (AAI) on July 11, 2024, issued the guidelines to deal with the weather exigencies during the pre-monsoon and monsoon periods.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It aims to provide guidance and re-iterate the safety measures during the pre-monsoon and monsoon periods.
• It shall apply to all the ATS personnel of AAI engaged in the provision of air traffic services in airspace and at the aerodromes.
• It states that the ATS in charge shall develop SOPs related to ATC operations during Pre-m monsoon and monsoon weather conditions, and shall also ensure that all the controllers are made aware of the SOP and proper implementation of this ATMC.
• It states that the ATS in charge shall also ensure that the sanitization classes are conducted before the advent of pre-monsoon and monsoon periods and submit the compliance report to ED(ATM) by 15th April of every calendar year.
