Commercial ComplianceThe Government of Haryana on July 09, 2024, issued the Punjab Stamp (Haryana Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Punjab Stamp Rules, 1934.

The following amendment has been stated:

• In rule 26, which states “Grant of license to any person”, in clause (i), for sub-clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:

o That no person shall be licensed to sell single stamp exceeding Rs. 20,000/- in value in case of court fee stamps.;

o That no person shall be licensed to sell any single e-stamp exceeding Rs. 20,000/- in value in case of impressed/special adhesive non judicial stamps. The stamp vendors shall be allowed to sell impressed/special adhesive non judicial stamps up to denomination of Rs. 100/- only;”.

• In rule 28, for the word, figures and signs “Rs. 10,000/-” wherever occurring, the word, figures and signs “Rs. 20,000/-” shall be substituted.  

• In rule 33, which states “Duties of ex-officio vendors”, for the word, figures and signs “Rs. 10,000/-” wherever occurring, the word, figures and signs “Rs. 20,000/-” shall be substituted.
