The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MOCAFPD) on July 15, 2024, invited public comments on the proposal to amend Rule 3 of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 3 states that the provisions shall apply to all packaged commodities sold in bags in retail, except for the packaged commodities meant for industrial consumers or institutional consumers.
• It states that comments/ suggestions/ objections from the public on the amended rules shall be made on or before July 29, 2024, by email at: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected].
