The Central Marks Department-III (CMD-III) on July 10, 2024, issued a notification regarding the Revised Product Manual for IS 368: 2014 ‘Electric immersion water heaters - Specification (Fifth Revision)’ and IS 302-2-201: 2008 Safety of household and similar electrical appliances Part 2 particular requirements Sec 201 electric immersion water heaters (First Revision).
The following changes have been made to the Product Manuals:
• The following Note has been added in the Product Manual for IS 368: 2014: ‘The requirements of ‘Electric Immersion Water Heaters’ as per IS 302-2-201: 2008 are deemed complied if the product meets the requirements of IS 368: 2014 under BIS certification licence.’
• The following Note has been added to the Product Manual for IS 302-2-201: 2008: ‘Manufacturers of ‘Electric Immersion Water Heater’ are required to take BIS certification as per IS 368: 2014. Then the requirements of the product as per IS 302-2-201: 2008 are deemed complied.’
