The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on July 16, 2024, notified regarding the requirements for exercising the privileges of ratings on multi-pilot aeroplanes/aeroplanes of AUW 5700 Kgs and above.
The following has been stated namely: -
• This CAR applies to all pilots operating multi-pilot aeroplanes and is also relevant to pilots operating aeroplanes having AUW of 5700 Kg and above, and lays down the requirements to be met for such pilots, who do not meet the prerequisites for continued exercise of privileges of the aeroplane rating before he undertakes PIC or Co-pilot duties.
• It states that to exercise privileges of rating on such aeroplane, all licences, qualifications, medical and Instrument Rating on type, if applicable, are required to be current and the pilot shall have completed Pilot Proficiency Checks (PPC) on the aeroplane type as required by Schedule II of Aircraft Rules 1937.
It seeks comments on Draft Revision to CAR Section 8 Series F Part I - Requirements for exercising the privileges of ratings on multi-pilot aeroplanes/aeroplanes of AUW 5700 Kgs and above on or before August 14, 2024, to “Capt.
