Industry Specific ComplianceThe University Grants Commission (UGC) on July 16, 2024, notified regarding the “Access to Legal Aid to Victims”.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is mandated under the Protection of Human Rights Act, of 1993, to protect and promote the human rights of all people in the country. During an Open House Discussion on "Access to Legal Aid to Victims," the following recommendation emerged:

"Legal aid programs in universities and law colleges should be survey-oriented, with law students providing legal awareness to the masses. Legal aid should be extended by students to the most vulnerable groups and those who are unaware of their rights."

All Higher Education Institutions are requested to take necessary and appropriate action based on this recommendation.
