The Government of Uttar Pradesh on July 09, 2024, issued a notification regarding the protection of cows and cowsheds during the rainy season.
The following has been stated: -
•During the rainy season, no cow should remain in the mud at the cow shelters adequate dry places should be arranged for them to sit.
•Work should be done to take the destitute cattle to the shelter sites. It should also be kept in mind that no cow progeny should remain hungry.
•In the cow shelter sites, sheds should be installed on the raw lands and under the trees, so that cows can get a dry place to sit in the rain.
•Arrangements should be made for alternative treatment for cows living in cow shelters that are filled with rainwater.
•Lighting should be provided at cow shelters using solar energy.
