The Department of Industries & Commerce, Govt. of Haryana on July 16, 2024, issued the Draft Haryana IT & ITeS Policy, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It aims to transform the IT landscape of Haryana and establish it as a leading global hub for the IT/ ITeS sector, comprising world-class IT infrastructure infused with high calibre talent, driving innovation thereby leading to the sustainable economic development of the State.
• The objectives include doubling Haryana's annual IT service exports and turnover, creating 300,000 jobs, promoting R&D through Centers of Excellence, and fostering innovation and holistic development in the IT/ITeS sector state-wide.
• This policy shall be valid for a period of 05 years from the date of notification of this policy or the date of any new policy/amendment, introduced by the Government of Haryana, whichever is earlier.
• It states that an employment generation subsidy of INR 48,000 per year per employee, applicable for 10 years, shall be offered to Haryana-based units employing residents with valid ESI/PF numbers and remunerations up to INR 40,000, including those working from home within the state.
• It states that the top 15 performing startups in Haryana shall receive free incubation space for up to 5 seats per startup in government-owned incubators, extendable up to 3 years based on performance and requirements, as decided by the Steering Committee.
• It states that IT/ ITES Units shall be permitted for 3-shift operations with women allowed to work during night shifts, subject to adherence to necessary norms by the units with respect to the safety and security of women employees.
