The Government of Himachal Pradesh on June 27, 2024, notified regarding the amendment in the older notification no. TPT-A(3)- 7/2019-II dated November 01, 2023, related to Special Road Tax (SRT).
This shall come into force on June 27, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Condition No. 2 of the said notification shall be substituted with “In case, a vehicle registered in other State and is found plying in Himachal Pradesh without paying the due tax or for a different purpose than the purpose for which it is granted a permit, penalty of Rs. 20,000/- shall be charged in the case of a light motor vehicle and Rs. 50,000/- in the case of other motor vehicles for the first offence and Rs. 40,000/- in the case of light motor vehicles and Rs.1,00,000/- in case of other motor vehicles for the second offence, under the provisions of Section 17(4) of the Himachal Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1972.”
