The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on July 19, 2024, issued the notification regarding the Directions regarding re-operationalisation of Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2021.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has been decided to re-operationalize the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2021 with effect from May 11, 2024, to ensure food safety and fair practices in food business operations.
• The food business operators shall follow these regulations and the enforcement of these regulations shall commence only after the final regulations are notified in the Gazette of India.
• Improvement Notice under Section 32 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 may be issued to Food Business Operators, and accordingly action may be taken for compliance of these requirements.
