Industry Specific ComplianceThe Tourism Department of Ladakh on July 22, 2024, issued an addendum to an older notification related to "Ladakh Homestay Policy 2023" for the promotion of Rural/Border Tourism including protected areas (wildlife sanctuaries/parks).

The following has been stated namely: -

• It is an addendum to the Notification No. LA (Trm)/Homestay/2023/(53)/3748-55 [SG-LD-E-22102023-1267], dated October 22, 2023.

• Section 6 - "Homestay Definition" shall be substituted, it states that a privately owned house in rural/protected areas of Ladakh with good structural condition, winter-friendly flush toilet, and washroom, offering at least 1 room for tourist accommodation managed by the beneficiary's family, qualifies as a homestay under the policy.

• In Section 12, sub-section 12.7 shall be inserted under the title "Sequence/Order of Implementation of the Various Components".

• Section 12.3 - "Fiscal incentive for common household furnishings" shall be omitted.
