The Industries and Commerce Department, Haryana on July 23, 2024, notified the Patent Cost Reimbursement Scheme.
The following has been stated: -
•The “Patent Cost Reimbursement Scheme” is for the startups registered under the Haryana State Start-up Policy 2022. The Scheme is related to “Reimbursement for Patent cost”.
•The main objectives of the scheme are as follows:
(i)A Patent is a statutory right for an invention granted for a limited period of time to the patentee by the Government, in exchange for full disclosure of his invention for excluding others, from making, using, selling, importing the patented product or process for producing that product for those purposes without his consent.
(ii)The State Government intends to promote Patent registrations amongst Startups to protect their innovation in the era of globalization and secure their rights over their products and processes.
(iii)Through this scheme, the State government intends to provide support in the form of “Reimbursement for Patent Cost” to eligible Start-ups based in Haryana and facilitate the growth of Start-ups in the State of Haryana.
