The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on July 23, 2024, notified regarding the Adoption of PCI Card Production and Provisioning Guidelines for Assessments of RuPay Cards.
The following has been stated namely: -
• NPCI is updating its certification process (given in Annexure A) for RuPay card manufacturing and personalization bureaus which shall be effective from August 1, 2024, RuPay shall be adopting the PCI Security Standards Council's Card Production and Provisioning (CP) Physical and Logical Security Requirements for Card Bureau assessments.
• The ongoing Card Bureau Assessments by the current agency i.e. Fime, shall be accepted by September 30, 2024.
• The Card Bureaus shall pay the NPCI annual fees before applying for a Certificate of Compliance (CoC).
