The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) on July 01, 2024, issued measures to keep the city clean and enforce anti-littering measures.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It is in reference to Municipal Commissioner's Circular No. 54 of 2023-24 dated March 16, 2024 (attached below).
• It is stated that a fine is to be levied by the KMC from the offenders and compounding of charges in the first, second, and at every repeated instance under Schedule B of the SWM Rules, 2016.
• It is stated that Chief Municipal Engineer SWM shall submit a weekly report from all Assistant Directors in connection with the imposition of fines, and the first report shall be submitted on July 07, 2024.
