The Government of Himachal Pradesh on July 20, 2024, issued the Mukhya Mantri Bal Paushtik Aahaar Yojna to further improve the nutritional status of school students at the elementary level.
The salient features of the scheme are as follows: -
• Under this scheme, boiled eggs/fruits (preferably Banana or Apple) as per choice of the students/guardians, shall be provided as supplementary nutrition item (top-up), once a week, along Mid-Day Meal to the Students of classes Nursery to Eighth Grade from the financial year 2024-25.
• These supplementary items shall be procured & purchased fresh from the local market at the School level.
• The requisite funds @ Rs.7/- per child per school day (once in a week) will be provided separately to the Schools for the purpose.
The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the provision of Supplementary nutrition items under this scheme will be as per 'Annexure-A'.
