The Government of Bihar on July 23, 2024, issued the Bihar Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2024, to further amend the Bihar Municipal Act, 2007.
This shall come into force on July 24, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that in the provisions wherever the words “Chief Councilor” occur after these words “Deputy Chief Councilor” shall be inserted.
• Section 25 – “Removal of Chief Councillor/Deputy Chief Councillor”, sub-section (3) shall be deleted.
• In sections 80, 147, 148, 150, 151, and 152, the word “Regulations” shall be replaced by the words “Rules/Regulations”.
