The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) on July 29, 2024, notified the draft Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2024 further to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
The following has been stated: -
• Rules 17, and 18 of Chapter VII of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, shall be amended.
Rule 17 specifies the Application for Disability certificate and UDID Card.
Rule 18 mentions the Issue of Disability certificates/UDID Cards.
The objections and suggestions shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of a period of thirty days from July 31, 2024.
