Industry Specific Compliance The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on August 02, 2024, issued a notification regarding Aadhaar authentication for local cable operators.

The following has been stated: -

•The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will carry out Aadhaar authentication to verify the identity of persons registering online as local cable operators under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995, through the designated portal voluntarily, using a Yes / No authentication facility.

•This notification shall come into force from August 02, 2024.
