The Ministry of Communications on August 30, 2024, issued the Telecommunications (Administration of Digital Bharat Nidhi) Rules, 2024.
This shall come into force on August 31, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 4 states that the Digital Bharat Nidhi funding shall be provided to implementers for schemes and projects to achieve its objectives, with allocations and modalities determined by the Administrator, targeting underserved groups, and disbursed according to specified agreement conditions.
• Rule 5 states the Criteria for undertaking schemes and projects under Digital Bharat Nidhi.
• Rule 6 states that implementers funded by the Digital Bharat Nidhi for telecommunication networks shall share and provide access to these networks and services on an open, non-discriminatory basis, following Administrator-issued instructions.
