The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) on August 20, 2024, issued directions under section 12 of the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas Act, 2021 - Enhanced parking fees/charges for private vehicles to encourage public transport.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It is in reference to the Advisory issued on April 24, 2024, regarding rationalizing parking charges for private vehicles in NCR.
• It directs the MCD, NDMC, and DCB to review and rationalize parking charges for private vehicles by August 30, 2024, based on local integrated parking plans, with revisions to be publicly announced and strictly implemented by November 01, 2024.
