The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on August 30, 2024, issued a circular regarding minimum wages applicable to workers/employees working in SEEPZ (Electronics) Gem and Jewellery sectors.
The following has been stated: -
•The minimum wages applicable to unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled workers/employees working in SEEPZ (Electronics) Gem and Jewellery sectors are given below.
•The Revised Special Allowance will be effective from July 01, 2024, for the period up to December 31, 2024.
•The special allowance is revised by the competent authority of the Labor Department, Government of Maharashtra with effect from January 01 to July 01 of the year.
•The Zone Administration will regularly check the records and registers by calling for photocopies of payment registers for specified periods to ensure that minimum wages are paid by the employers.
