The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on July 11, 2024, issued the notification regarding the Advisory for proactive and comprehensive monitoring of Transmission Lines to Ensure Safety.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It is recommended to adhere to a rigorous and regular operations and maintenance (O&M) programme in respect of your transmission utilities.
• Necessary measures through best practices of O&M should be taken by the concerned utilities including crucial measures in preventing the induction or leakage current from transmission lines which can lead to severe safety hazards and operational inefficiencies.
• It is advised to implement the recommended practices promptly for smooth, safe, reliable, stable and efficient operation of grid such that the safety is ensured in the electric power system.
