The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on September 06, 2024, notified regarding the Early Redemption of Sovereign Gold Bonds Calendar for the period October 2024 To March 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It is in reference to RBI vide circular RBI/2019-20/213 IDMD.CDD.2730/14.04.050/2019-20 dated April 13, 2020, premature redemption of bonds may be permitted after the fifth year from the date of issue of such bond, on the date on which interest is payable.
• It states that to submit an early redemption request for Sovereign Gold Bonds, clients shall submit a Repurchase/Redemption Request Form to the DP, who will then process the request electronically using the CDAS system, provide details in the specified format to [email protected], and ensure correct bank details are provided to avoid redemption amount return.
