The Government of Punjab on September 03, 2024, notified the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets (Amendment) Bill, 2024 to further amend the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961.
The following has been stated-
•In section 12-A,- (i) for clause (c), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:- (c) during the period of supersession of the Committees, all powers and duties conferred and imposed upon the Committee, its Chairman,Vice-Chairman and other members by or under this Act, shall be exercised and performed by such officer, as the Government may appoint in that behalf and such officer shall continue to do so till the time such Committee is re-constituted and the Government issues an order in writing to this effect; and"; and (ii) in the proviso for the words "one year", the words "three years" shall be substituted.
