The Labour Department, West Bengal on September 05, 2024, issued guidelines for the fair settlement of workers' bonus dues for the 2024 Durga Puja, to promote industrial peace and harmony.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that employers shall ensure that all eligible employees receive their bonuses by September 30, 2024, before Durga Puja.
• Employers shall maintain or increase the bonus rate compared to the previous year and consider paying ex-gratia to those who exceed eligibility limits.
• Additionally, employers shall be encouraged to resolve any disputes amicably and cooperate with trade unions to maintain industrial peace.
