Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on September 10, 2024, notified regarding the introduction of faster timelines for licenses and self-declaration for equipment approvals.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It has streamlined the issuance of Experimental Licenses by setting fixed approval timelines, with automatic issuance after 30 days for non-consultation cases and provisional licenses granted after 60 days for consultation cases, converting to regular licenses after 90 days if no adverse comments are received.

• For Demonstration Licenses (Radiating Category), licenses shall be deemed granted after 15 days without Inter-Ministerial Consultation and after 45 days with consultation, once comments are sought from relevant authorities.

• Additionally, ETA holders are reminded to obtain the necessary clearances, such as a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), before importing equipment into India.
