Industry Specific ComplianceThe Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on September 11, 2024, issued a notification regarding the reduction of the Testing Fee for Pan-India Food Surveillance.

The following has been stated: -

•The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has reduced the testing fee for its Pan-India food surveillance program by 50%. 

•It aims to collect and analyze data on food safety risks, contaminants, and adulteration across the country. The reduced fee applies to all food categories and is part of FSSAI's efforts to promote food safety and standardization. 

•GST will be applicable as per Central Government orders. The surveillance program covers both organized and unorganized sectors, with samples collected from all districts in 36 States/UTs.
