The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on September 10, 2024, notified regarding the special drives to check adulteration of sweets, savouries, milk, and milk products like ghee, khoya, paneer, etc. during the festive season.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states a special drive to enhance food safety during the festive season by increasing surveillance and enforcement of standards for sweets, savouries, and dairy products.
• It mandates regular inspections and the deployment of Food Safety on Wheels (FSW) in key markets to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
