The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on September 09, 2024, issued the notification regarding the Additional KYC instructions in respect of business connections.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Licensees are permitted to issue maximum 100 mobile connections with limited call/SMS/ data facility to an entity at a given time. Request has been received from some of the entities to increase the limit of such mobile connections upto 2000 and also to remove the restrictions of limited call/ data/ SMS on such mobile connections.
• The following need to be conveyed:
o Restricted usage: Licensees to issue such mobile connections with limited call/ SMS/ data facility with definite validity period of maximum one year at a time as per the use case scenarios of subscribing entity. The limits are to be decided by licensees, and usage shall be subject to such limits.
o Increase of mobile connection cap from 100 to 2000 at a time
