The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on September 10, 2024, issued the notification regarding the Facility for Basic Services Demat Account (BSDA)
The following has been stated namely: -
• The information about demat accounts held by BOs has been obtained based on the data shared between the Depositories (CDSL & NSDL) as of August 31, 2024
• The list of active BO IDs along with the holding value of securities as of August 31, 2024, has been provided.
• The eligibility criteria are namely: -
o Demat accounts under individual category
o Value of securities held in demat account not exceeding Rs. 10 lakhs for debt and other than debt securities combined as of August 31, 2024
o One demat account of the first holder across depository where verified PAN of the first holder is available. This criteria has not been applied in the case of PAN exempted BO IDs.
