Industry Specific ComplianceThe Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) on September 13, 2024, issued a draft discussion paper regarding preconditions and applicable tariffs for drawing start-up power and drawing power for other purposes under start-up power by the Generating Stations.

The following has been stated: -

•The discussion paper explores the preconditions and applicable tariffs for drawing start-up power and power for other purposes under start-up power by Generating Stations.

•The paper aims to:

-Clarify the definition and scope of start-up power

-Establish preconditions for availing start-up power

-Determine the applicable tariff for start-up power and power for other purposes

-Examine the responsibilities of Generating Stations and beneficiaries

-Discuss the duration and phasing out of start-up power benefits

The Stakeholders and other interested persons are requested to file their comments/views/suggestions/objections within Fifteen (15) days from September 13, 2024.
