Industry Specific ComplianceThe NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited (NBBL) on September 17, 2024, issued a notification regarding Capturing & Transmitting Unmodified Information for Payment Transactions (Modes) routed through the Bharat Connect platform.

The following has been stated: -

•NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited offers interoperable and accessible bill payment services to customers through digital/online channels or a network of agents, enabling multiple payment modes, and providing instant confirmation of payment.

•COUs/AIs are mandated to ensure that the correct parameters are captured in payment requests initiated to Bharat Connect while executing transactions with credit cards as a payment mode and that prohibited payment modes are not utilized for making such payments.

•NBBL shall monitor the integrity of payment information from time to time. COUs/AIs observed as noncompliant shall be subject to action, including, but not limited to, business discontinuance, monetary penalty, and/or penal action, depending on the severity of the situation. 

• All ecosystem partners are requested to follow the guidelines for ensuring a safe and secure payment system and work towards building customer trust.
