Industry Specific ComplianceThe Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) on September 14, 2024, issued a draft discussion Paper on Preconditions and applicable tariffs for drawing start-up power and drawing power for other purposes under start-up power by the Generating Stations.

The following has been stated: -

•The main objectives of the paper are to Streamline Power Distribution and establish clear guidelines for start-up power and other power usage.

- Promote Transparency: Define tariffs and conditions for generating stations.

- Encourage Efficiency: Ensure optimal power utilization.

•KERC has been actively updating regulations to align with India's shifting energy landscape, including proposals for net metering, green energy open access, and captive power generation.

•The Stakeholders and other interested persons can submit their comments/ views/suggestions/objections within Fifteen (15) days from September 14, 2024.
