The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on September 19, 2024, issued the draft Food Safety and Standards (Fortification of Foods) Amendment Regulations, 2024, to further amend the Food Safety and Standards (Fortification of Foods) Regulations, 2018.
It states that regulation 7 (4) – Every package of food, fortified with Iron shall carry a statement “People with Thalassemia may take under medical supervision” shall be omitted.
