The Labour Department of Kerala on September 18, 2024, notified regarding the revision in the minimum rates of wages payable to the employees employed in the Brick Manufacturing and Wire Cut Bricks Industry sector.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Minimum rates of wages have been revised for Hand Moulded Bricks Industry (For time-rated workers), Hand Moulded Bricks Industry (For piece-rated working), Cement and Sand Bricks Industry (For time-rated working), and Mechanised Units.
• It states that in case the employees of any establishment/Industry are at present getting higher wages than the minimum wages fixed as per this notification, they shall be entitled to get such higher rates.
• It states that the monthly rate in respect of the category of employees for whom daily rate is fixed in this schedule may be calculated by multiplying the consolidated amount of Basic Wages and Dearness Allowance with 26.
